Lower Dauphin’s Spring Musical, “Oklahoma!” will run from February 27th – March 2nd and features Hunter Meyers and Lauren King in the lead roles. Plenty of students have played a part in this production, and here are some of the cast and crew’s highlights.

Sophomores Penny Altland and Sora Gleim both highlighted the two love triangles, the main one being between Laurey, Curly and Jud, while the side plot involves Ado Annie, Ali Hakim, and Will Parker. 

Gleim says, “The love triangles get really interesting and crazy. It’s extremely funny to watch them develop from the tech side of things.”

Gleim and Altland also came to the conclusion that “The Dream Sequence” is one of the best scenes because it uses a lot of special effects and is very interesting. They both agreed that they think it will be a fan favorite and will have the audience on the edge of their seats. 

Altland says, “It’s a scene I’m very excited to perform just based on the costumes and special effects. I don’t want to give too much away for those who haven’t seen [“Oklahoma!”] yet, but it is a little scary as well. People will have to come out to see it.”

And of course, as a musical, the audience can expect amazing music from both the actors and the pit.  While the cast and crew could never settle on a favorite, “People Will Say We’re In Love” is near the top of everyone’s list.
