As we roll into the second semester of the school year, there is a feeling of procrastination and sluggishness, especially during the winter months. This could cause some to fall behind on some school work and grades to drop.
To romanticize school means taking steps to make something more appealing or interesting than it really is. When you make it more appealing, this makes you want to do more of it, such as wanting to complete assignments.
There are a couple of ways to do this and some can be better than others. Here are 5 ways to romanticize school:
- Make a study playlist
- You mostly have other playlists for driving, exercising and so on, so why not make a study playlist? Think about music that gets you motivated, but also involve some music that can help you focus.
- Have a study routine
- Creating a routine can make good use of your time, when you know what homework you need to be doing or test you should be studying for.
- Make your notes aesthetic
- Making your notes look a certain way can transform the way you feel about when you go back to study them. Using some sort of color scheme can make the notes look put together as well.
- Study with friends
- Studying in a group setting can be effective, especially if you take the same class with each other. It can help you study for an exam or work together to understand a concept.
- Find an appealing study environment
- Being in a clean and quiet environment can help you study efficiently, without any distractions, along with making the study space comfortable to be in for a long period of time.
Lauryn Parcon, a senior, said, “I study by either locking myself in a room or sitting outside without my phone.”
Thaddeus Shradley, a sophomore, said, “I tend to make check lists with daily tasks, even beyond school. I enjoy checking off the boxes of my assignments because it makes me feel more accomplished. I find this method to be fairly efficient for me, as it helps me start work I’ve been procrastinating or lacked the motivation to start.”
