Many dual enrollment students may be wondering: should they do online or in-person dual enrollment? As someone who attends an in-person class at a college, I believe in-person has many advantages.
To start, in-person classes allow for greater learning. Being in the classroom with other students and a teacher makes the class more engaging and interactive.
In-person classes also allow high schoolers to begin to get acclimated to a college environment. This helps them have a better start when they do attend college for real.
Lower Dauphin students are unsure. “I think they both have their pros and cons,” says senior Virginia Huntzinger. “I feel like there’s a lot more flexibility with having an online class, but there’s also a lack of community.” Faith Fausnight’s opinion differs. “I think in-person is better, because I feel as though in-person has less distractions than online.”
While popular opinion is important, be sure to choose which format best suits you!
