Christmas Day is rapidly approaching, and our local communities are preparing by setting up holiday decorations. Among the most well-loved festive decor is Christmas lights, which illuminate neighborhoods timelessly, sparking nostalgia in onlookers.
Christmas lights are not only an enjoyable decoration, but also a fun way to spend time with friends and family. Our area boasts attractions such as Hersheypark Candylane and Sweet Lights, which draw visitors from across the country. However, our community has no shortage of local gems either–like the Linglestown Lights, a house that transforms into a holiday light show during the Christmas season, allowing visitors to connect to a custom radio station that plays coordinating music.
“I love [Christmas lights] because they are super cool and they just really up the holiday spirits in neighborhoods,” says sophomore Kaley Edris.
“I think Christmas lights are one of the prettiest things about the Christmas season. It can make anything festive, and they are super cool to look at when driving around,” says sophomore Lily Kratz.
“I love Christmas lights,” agrees senior Katlyn Grier. “They just put everyone in the holiday spirit and really set the mood for Christmas!”
