This past Friday, October 4th, was the third annual Lower Dauphin High School Club Day. Many clubs elected representatives and created displays to be shown at a table in the small cafeteria during first period, when classes of freshmen were sent down to spend time learning about the extracurricular activities Lower Dauphin has to offer.
Alex Elicker, founder and representative of the new Film N’ Production club, says, “Club Day was a great day for kids to learn and share each other’s hobbies and ideas.”
Club Day saw a wide variety of representation, including more well-known groups like Student Council and honor societies such as the French National Honor Society, and senior Brandon Everett even did some fundraising for his Mini-THON campaign at the event, doing push-ups in the middle of the action and drawing attention for his cause.
Student Council advisor Mr. Scott Yoder says, “I felt like Club Day was a great success. We had several freshmen inquire about joining!”
This Club Day brought even more success than previous years, drawing new students to the fun activities offered at the high school. This new tradition is likely to continue for years to come as the student body becomes more and more engaged with school life.
