Last Friday, September 20th, Lower Dauphin football took on Hershey in a game that left three players injured.
The scoreboard idled at 0-0 for most of the game, but fans perked up when a Hershey High School football player was injured on the field. The player was able to collect themselves and, with some help, walk off the field.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the last of the injuries. Two Lower Dauphin seniors were injured in separate incidents following the initial injury. Senior Owen Tucker was first, followed by Henry Lewis. Both players were able to get off the field and sustained no serious damage from the game’s events.
Senior Victoria Irwin, one of the many shocked students watching from the sidelines, says, “More people got injured on our team today than who scored points.”
Senior Hunter Meyers voices the opinions of many other concerned members of the student body, expressing that he is “wishing a quick recovery” to the injured players.
