Aaron Rodgers made his return to the NFL on September 9, 2024: exactly 364 days after he tore his achilles on the fourth offensive snap of the Jet’s opening game.
Lots of NFL fans admire Rodgers and the accomplishments he has made; however, his first game back was underwhelming and led some Jets fans to lose hope in making the playoffs this year. His stats on Monday night consisted of 13 pass completions out of 21 attempts, 167 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and one interception.
Rodgers played for the Green Bay Packers for 18 seasons and created a very convincing future Hall of Fame resume. In 2023, he decided to take his talents to the New York Jets, but as stated earlier Rodgers didn’t get to play his first season with them. This year Jets fans around the country are hoping that with their quarterback healthy they can make a playoff run in search of a super bowl.
Lower Dauphin may not have too many Jets fans in the school district, but lots of students follow the NFL and all of its star players such as Rodgers, not to mention the fantasy football players who rely on him to put up solid points in their leagues against quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. The big question everyone wants to know is if he is able to perform at the level he used to be able to. Can he put up the same stats he used to?
Cole Duffy, an avid New York Giants fan and junior at Lower Dauphin says, “I’m very excited to see how Aaron Rodgers performs with the Jets, especially after his terrible injury last year. I’m hoping he can bounce back and have another one of his signature seasons.”
Jets fans can only hope that Rodgers at 40 years old, with his career 59,222 passing yards and 476 touchdowns, will pave a playoff spot in a competitive conference against other teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys.
