Throughout one’s lifetime, it is common to become the owner of a pet, more specifically, a dog.
Dogs are one of the most common pets to have all over the world, and at Lower Dauphin High School, they play roles in lots of students’ lives, whether that be being a part of their family or for emotional support. However, this strikes curiosity and a question: what is the most common dog breed here?
“I think the most popular dog breed at Lower Dauphin is a mix with a golden retriever because this form of dog has grown popular. Even I have a mix of a golden retriever, a golden doodle,” said sophomore Abigail Gaertner, giving her input on the question.
The question was also posed to Mrs. Tess Stavenski, a teacher at the high school. “I would say a labrador retriever or a golden retriever. It’s difficult though, since there’s a lot of mixed breeds.”
After allowing students to complete a small survey, it is revealed that the most popular type of dog amongst the students here is no specific breed at all, but dogs that are two or more mixed breeds.
Meanwhile, the most specific dog breed students own is a tie between the border terrier and the labrador retriever.
The survey also revealed that it is most common for students to own only one dog instead of having two, three, or none at all.
