Nearly 30 members of the Lower Dauphin Class of 2023 will play collegiate athletics over the course of the 2023-24 season.
Here is a brief look at some of the performances of these athletes and their success as of early October.
Katelyn Economopoulos, Kutztown Soccer
Starting in eight of the team’s ten games and playing in all of them as a midfielder, Economopoulos has quickly become one of Kutztown’s top players. She has buried five goals and recorded two assists while also receiving honors as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Athlete of the Week in September (KUBears.com). Her Kutztown Golden Bears are currently ranked seventh in all of Division II.
Maddy Weaver, Vermont Field Hockey
Weaver started two games and played in four for the Division I Catamounts as a midfielder (UVMAthletics.com).
Hannah McConnell, Kutztown Field Hockey
McConnell played in seven games for Kutztown and registered an Assist vs St. Michael’s in an 8-0 win.
Cory Miduri, East Stroudsburg Cross Country
East Stroudsburg and Miduri have been very successful so far this season, placing 12th at the Paul Short Run and finishing top ten in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational meet.
Mary Coyle, Pitt Greensburg Volleyball
Coyle has seen a lot of action in the start to Pitt Greensburg’s season, playing in 11 matches and playing 18 sets. She has three kills and two assists for the Panthers as a middle blocker (PittGreensburgAthletics.com).
