A fire in Iraq’s city of Qaraqosh leaves at least 100 people dead and at least 150 more injured. The incident took place on Tuesday night.

The fire broke out at a wedding party. The cause of the fire was fireworks that were set off as the bride and groom started to dance. 

Security have arrested ten people working the venue as well as the owner because there were illegal materials in the building when the fireworks were set off and they were set off indoors. This caused the fire to spread abnormally fast.

The decorations and building were highly flammable, which only added to the fire. The fire spread so fast that it was extremely hard to escape. The fire also created a ton of rubble making the escape even more challenging and even trapping others. 

The fire was said to sweep the building and halls in seconds. The fire caused debris to fall from the roof and caused a lot of smoke, which limited vision and breathing.
