Ice Spice was named this year’s best new artist after having a successful career in such a short amount of time.

Karol G and Shakira won this award for their collaboration on “TQG”.
Best pop
Taylor Swift won yet another award for “Anti-Hero”, triumphing Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and P!nk.
Best hip-hop
Nicki Minaj won this award for the fourth time, making her the artist who has won it the most times.
Best R&B
SZA was given this award for her song, “Shirt”.
Best alternative
“Candy Necklace”, by Lana Del Rey ft. John Batiste, triumphed over blink-182, boygenius, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Thirty Seconds to Mars for this award.
Best rock
Many viewers were shocked to see Maneskin win this award for their song, “The Loneliest”. They’d accrued more votes than Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more.
