As a welcome to the 2023-24 school year, the Falcon Flash held a photo contest, with the picture earning the most likes on Instagram winning. The photos were taken in front of the large “LD” letters by the auditorium and students posed with a sign saying “1st Day of School 2023-24!”
The winning photo was of two people, seniors Quinn Madden and Peter Otto. Their picture gained 168 likes in three days, which was ultimately enough to take home the crown. Sophomore Cole Duffy, who’s post garnered 155 hearts, fell just short.
Madden and Otto put a lot of effort into victory, sending the post to countless friends and relatives.
This hard work would be rewarded, with Madden’s younger brother Christian relaying the message to nearly 50 friends and helping in the triumph.
“Christian [Madden] really came in clutch. We owe him,” said Otto.
As a prize for winning, each student received a $10 gift card to Sheetz.
When asked about the victory, Madden simply said, “the job’s not finished.”
