LD Boys Soccer returns to states bound stardom
October 28, 2022
Coming into the postseason, Lower Dauphin Boys’ Soccer found themselves as the ninth seed entering Districts. After some disappointing losses during the regular season, the Falcons decided that now was the time to chase victory and not look back. This past Monday, the Falcons ventured to Northern York to take on the Polar Bears. Senior Natie Davis received a masterful cross off a corner kick from Senior Captain Scott Felter to put the Falcons up 1-0 in the first half. A tough fought battle, the game managed to go to double overtime where Freshman Astin Lehman played a ball to Junior Rees Schrode who clinched victory for the Falcons. Following their first round victory, the Falcons made their way to Elizabethtown yesterday where they faced off against the Etown Bears. Despite several key pieces of the Falcons’ line up being injured, such as Junior Ryan Fellin, Senior Ivan Fombu and Junior David Risser, the Falcon’s pulled off their victory against the first seeded Bears in a 3-2 win for the Falcons, with goals from Sophomore Vicente Martinez, Freshman Astin Lehman and another victory-granting shot from Junior Rees Schrode. This puts the Falcons into the State playoffs, and grants them a great position to win not only Districts, but the grand prize of their fourth State Championship title, as they gear up to play the Cocalico Eagles on Monday.
