Breaking News: chicken for lunch yet again
May 23, 2022
As students across LDHS prepare for lunch, the excitement of what the daily special could be makes waiting in the everlasting line worth it. However, for the past month, it feels like the only entrée every being served is chicken—in one form or another.
They have called it boneless chicken wings, chicken poppers and chicken nuggets when, really, it is just taking the same item and stretching out how often it is served by giving it individual, unique names.
When asked what the lunch would be May 23rd, the cafeteria workers replied with “chicken tenders,” which have been added to the growing list of chicken varieties.
The chicken has still been a hit, nonetheless, and a vast number of students can be seen eating it each day.
The school’s lack of food variety is frustrating, but as long as students continue to gobble up the chicken, don’t be surprised to see it on the lunch menu extremely often for the rest of the school year.
