Atlético Madrid vs. Real Valladolid (Saturday, May 22) and Real Madrid vs. Villareal (Saturday, May 22)
If Atlético wins against nineteenth place Valladolid they will secure the La Liga title. Real Madrid needs to count on an Atlético loss and a win over Villareal. Even if that doesn’t happen, an Atlético draw with Valladolid and a Real Madrid win by more than three goals would win Real the cherished La Liga title. These matchups have huge implications for the La Liga crown.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants (Saturday, May 22)
This matchup is between two of the better teams in the MLB. The two are division rivals and this matchup will be a good one. The Dodgers have a very deep roster, including the recent signing of Albert Pujols. With studs like Trevor Bauer, Walker Buehler, and Clayton Kershaw on the mound, the Dodgers have a great pitching group as well. The Giants have a solid pitching unit as well with guys like Johnny Cueto, as well as some young stars in the outfield in Mike Yastremski and others. This is a great matchup to watch for baseball fans on Saturday.
Rwanda Patriots Basketball Club vs. Union Sportive Monastirienne (Saturday, May 22)
This game in the new BAL, Basketball Africa League, is a big one for basketball fans. The Patriots Basketball Club are 2-0 so far this season and Union Sportive Monastirienne is 1-0. This will be an intriguing matchup with one team coming away with their first loss. For fans of the rapper, J.Cole, you can catch him suiting up with the Patriots in his third career professional basketball game. So far Cole has shot just 1 for 5 from the field, but is 1 for 1 from the free throw line. Cole will look to get back on track offensively after having some solid defense in the first two games.
Atalanta vs. AC Milan (Sunday, May 23)
Two of the Serie A’s best teams, this a great fixture to watch for soccer fans. While Internazionale Milan has already clinched the Serie A title, these two sides will be fighting to keep a top spot in the table. The losing side could fall all the way into fifth, meaning they would miss out on a UEFA Champions League berth, having to settle for the UEFA Europa League. This is a huge matchup with many implications for Italian and European soccer.
